This is Tanner. We’ve been friends since we were 5 years old. Last week he flew into Manchester, NH to live vanlife with Adam and I for 10 days. It’s something he’s been wanting to do this entire year and we finally found a way to make it work.
The weeks leading up to him flying out, he texted the two of us mentioning how stoked he was and how much fun we’re going to have. He was right, but Adam and I kept shaking our heads and smiling. We knew Tanner had no idea what he was in for, especially since we didn’t tell him our plans for while he was going to visit.
Right when we picked him up from the airport, we booked it up the coast to Acadia National Park in Maine. There was one hike I wanted to do that I knew would put Tanner out of his comfort zone. It involved heights and lots of vertical exposure.
Tanner likes to talk. The whole hike to the base of the Beehive Trail he was talking non-stop. When Tanner’s out of his comfort zone, he gets focused. When he gets focused, he stops talking. Right when things started requiring some attention to detail he stopped talking. But when the three of us got to the top and took in the views, we started talking about how awesome that hike was.
