It’s not summer right now. We’re in the Northeast and it’s getting quite chilly, especially at night. But when I caught wind we’d be in Baltimore at the same time as Yellowcard, I knew we’d get a break from the cold.
Yellowcard always gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling, especially when they play Always Summer. Coming from Jacksonville, FL they remind me of my home state. Most people know them as “the rock band with the violin” or “the guys that sing Ocean Avenue,” but they’re so much more than that. They write genuine and hopeful lyrics. And yes, the violinist rips which certainly doesn’t hurt. Their songs remind me that things will be alright, even though they’re on their farewell tour. Even though it’s going to be a cold winter.
