During our safety briefing we were told that we had to keep our arms and legs inside the helicopter at all times. We thought we’d be flying with the doors on, but the kind lady at the helicopter check-in office said we had the option to fly doorless, free of charge. Adam, Dad, and I immediately jumped at that opportunity. It was more thrilling for Adam and I because we were able to come back with even better pictures and videos. This being my first helicopter flight I wanted to take full advantage. I’m of the impression that some rules are meant to be broken. Compromising safety, never, but if I wanted to get a shot that was worth it without compromising everyone’s safety, I knew I had to do it. In the end the pilot never said anything to me and I landed some really neat shots, like this one, so I’ll call that a win-win.
